Our Medical Workshop programme offered teens and young people from alternative education settings an opportunity to explore the world of healthcare through hands-on, interactive learning. Participants engaged in activities such as phlebotomy, examining cells under a microscope, and gaining insight into what it is like to work in a laboratory. The sessions were designed to spark curiosity, build practical skills, and give young people a real taste of medical and scientific careers.
The programme also featured a talk from a practising paramedic, sharing first-hand experiences of working within the NHS, and provided guidance on career pathways and routes into healthcare professions. By combining practical experience with professional insight, the workshops helped participants envision potential futures in medicine, while building confidence, aspiration, and understanding of the opportunities available.
