Windrush FAQs

The Windrush Compensation Scheme was set up by the UK government to compensate Commonwealth people who suffered losses or hardship because they were wrongly classified as being in the UK illegally. This includes people who were denied work, housing, healthcare, benefits, or were detained or removed.

You may be eligible if:

– You came to the UK before 1973 from a Commonwealth country.
– You are a child of someone who came to the UK before 1973.
– You arrived in the UK before 1988 and are settled here.
– You were affected by immigration status issues linked to the Windrush scandal.

Family members may also be able to apply in some circumstances.

If you’re unsure, we can help you check your eligibility.

At Make More, we provide:

– Free guidance and advice on eligibility.
– Help completing application forms.
– Support gathering evidence.
– Help understanding Home Office correspondence.
– Assistance with reviews or appeals if needed.

We are here to support you through every step of the process.

Our support is completely free of charge. We do not charge a fee for our service, nor require any percentage of compensation paid to you.

That’s completely okay. Many people are unsure.

Contact us for a confidential conversation, and we will help you understand whether you may be eligible.
